In 1981, Home Builder Bob Kraus, a native of Oakland County, Michigan graduated from Michigan State University, East Lansing with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management. Upon graduation, he started his professional career and gained practical knowledge of the building industry from the largest single-family building corporation in the United States. When the home building industry in the southern United States faced a slowing trend in 1987, Bob wisely returned to Michigan where he soon founded what is now considered one of the premier Design + Build home building companies.
Bob is a third-generation builder and has had his hands in the industry since childhood. Kraus Building & Supply, established in 1930, more than 90 years ago in Detroit is where he spent many summers helping out in the family business. Bob chipped mortar from old bricks taken from old torn-down Detroit buildings. From chipping the mortar that came from demolished building bricks to custom building premier traditional style homes, Bob Kraus has established himself as a leader in the industry by "Setting The New Standard."
